Music And Movement

Are you of an age to remember MUSIC AND MOVEMENT as a lesson in school ?

If you are an oldie like me it may have been a feature of your junior school. It was PE done to music, I never liked it much - it was all a bit too cissy.

However, today's page is titled MUSIC AND MOVEMENT. The music is made up from the five
shows I will broadcast on the radio today. The movement is my DOINGS LIST for the week.

Three years ago I spent time researching the songs which were number one hits on my birthday. I then published them as a collection on YouTube.  This was number one on the day I was born.

During Monday Morning Music Mega Mix I will be playing today a selection of hits from my birthdays. Do please listen
in 6am to 8am www.crmk.co.uk

This week-end's car boot sales were not exactly a success !

Saturday at Milton Keynes Irish Centre we took £41 but someone swung a dud £10 note on me so we just made £31. Yesterday at MK Bowl we took only £22.15p !  £53.15p will just about cover the cost of fuel and postage with a bit left over for printing ink.

Most of the money was made selling things for 20p, 50p and £1. We really did not have anything of higher value.

Before we can go to sales next week-end we need STUFF to sell - LOTS OF STUFF. Lisa has worked out that we will need £600 to cover costs for Sunshine Smile
Day so PLEASE could you have a turn out and let us have STUFF to sell. Thanks.

Tomorrow's show MUSIC FROM MY VINYL COLLECTION features Cliff Richard and two albums - SUMMER HOLIDAY and WIRED FOR SOUND.

6am to 8am www,crmk.co.uk

I have set up a page which I am calling THE LOVING TREE listing all who have donated raffle prizes or who are going the extra mile to make Sunshine Smile Day a fabulous success.

I am working on the RADIO DISCO page, I need to finish the playlist then invite people to sponsor tracks for the good causes Sunshine Smile Day is working with.

Wednesday's show, LET'S INSPIRE, will introduce Piggie Alfie to the world. Our music has adopted Alfie at Curly Tails Rescue Centre. As part of Sunshine Smile Day I will be taking part in a sponsored haircut for Alfie.

I need to get that added to the website and also I want to make a page explaining what Rebekah's smile has achieved over the past two years.

A lot of time this coming week is going to be spent chasing people who say they are doing something for Sunshine Smile Day but have yet to get their act together.  I think I will be chasing myself a bit LOL.

Thursday's show WAKE UP WITH THE CLASSICS will feature a series of pieces I really like but have not played very much on the radio.

The PODCAST for this show and all shows will be available round about 9.30am on the day of broadcast.

The thing that really worries me about Sunshine Smile Day, it keeps me awake at night, is the fact that we will put on a fabulous day but nobody will turn up !  I am particularly worried about SMILE DISCO so today I have to design posters, fliers and hit social media to make sure thousands of people come along.

That brings us to Friday's show - PICK OF THE POPS. The time machine will be going back to 12th April 1962, I was 11 years old back then.

Once I have published today's blog I have to finish writing the playlist for Friday's shows then start to draft a few things for next week's broadcasts.

I will be playing this on today's show - it was number one on my 12th birthday in 1962.

This was number 28 on 12th April 1962 so will feature in Friday's show.

MUSIC AND MOVEMENT...................

Do listen to today's show - 6am to 8am www.crmk.co.uk PODCAST available round about 9,30am

Today's show will be number 118 broadcast since I joined Radio CRMK - enjoy the music and please support the MOVEMENT to make SUNSHINE SMILE DAY a phenomenal success.

Hold Tight

Having pushed the pedal to the metal and taken my life up to 150 mph I am facing TWO  problems !

From the previous speed of 100 mph I am catching up with a backlog of work. Does that make sense ?  Somehow I do not think so !

I am having great difficulty with those who can not keep up with me !

www.crmk.co.uk 6am to 8am - I will be broadcasting my Friday show PICK OF THE POPS. This week out rime machine is going back to 5th April 1971.

5th April 1971 was actually a Monday.

Richard Nixon was President of USA
while Edward Heath was British Prime Minister.  I'm not going to tell you just where in the charts it was, you will have to listen to the show, but this was in the Top Thirty.

The PODCAST will be available round about 9.30am

So what else happened in 1971 ?

UK inflation stood at 8.6%, today it is 2.17%  Unemployment was at the highest level since the war at 817,000. Arsenal beat Liverpool 2-1 in the FA Cup Final.

44 days to go until SUNSHINE SMILE DAY.   Lisa is doing an
amazing job organising this year's event.

30 days left to the RADIO PARTY I will be broadcasting ahead of SUNSHINE SMILE DAY

I am not particularly worried about the radio disco, I'll have the playlist written within the next few days and open everything up to sponsorship for the good causes we will be supporting on SUNSHINE SMILE DAY

What I am worried about is SMILE DISCO which follows the
family afternoon on SUNSHINE SMILE DAY.

I need to get the publicity machine moving and really could do with some help here.

The Bullshit Broadcasting Corporation is changing its mind about the weather for the week-end. Tomorrow looks OK but Sunday is a little bit iffy ! We need two dry days so our car boot sales run OK and make a good wedge of money.

We need money to pay for printing of posters and fliers.

5.07am - I signed in to the studio at 3am.  Happy with the work I have achieved in the past two hours but right now my eyes are dropping.

However, once the clock ticks to 6am and I go live the rev counter will zoom into the red and I'll be speeding along at 150 mph.

This is the opening track of the show - at Number Thirty on Monday 5th April 1971.

Make sure you tune in www.crmk.co.uk

I'm not telling you what's at Number One but if you promise to listen I'll tell you this is at Number Two - Monday 5th April 1971..............

I Have Got to Change My Lifestyle

I have a very serious matter to deal with.

Last week I went to my doctor for a series of tests - my annual medical MOT.

Yesterday I received the results.

I am going to have to make some changes in my life.

I can no longer live my life at 100 mph.............

I PASSED ALL OF THE TESTS WITH FLYING COLOURS !

Pedal to the metal I am now going to live my life at 150 mph !

My darling wife, on hearing the news, said: Are you ever going to retire ?

One day...........................PERHAPS !

Made it into the studio quite early this morning, 2.45am, and wrote playlists for two shows to broadcast next week before I began working on today's blog. 4.56am, I'll be live in just over an hour.

Today's show is WAKE UP WITH THE CLSSICS - my 116th show on Radio CRMK - www.crmk.co.uk DO LISTEN IN.

I have been playing music on YouTube for THREE years now. My show today is all about classical music I have played on YouTube.

I am not going to write a particularly long page today so let me move through what I am going to write at 150 mph !

The music will come from four collections I have on YouTube.....

Strauss - which is currently playing.........

Some patriotic music.

I think our miserably failing members of parliament could do with a bit of patriotism - would you not agree ?

I'll be playing my top ten favourite songs from Gilbert and Sullivan.

And some of my favourite arias from The Opera

As The Geriatric DJ people tend to associate me with retro-pop, music from the 1950's, 60's. 70's and a bit of 80's but my deepest love is for classical music.

So please join me - www.crmk.co.uk - 6am to 8am and wake up with the classics.

YES, there will be some gentle tracks but to respect my enhanced lifestyle much of it will travel at 150mph !

Sunshine Smile Day

3.25am - I am running late ! Usually here for 2.45am !

At 6am I will be broadcasting my 115th show on Radio CRMK - www.crmk.co.uk - DO LISTEN IN.

The PODCAST will be available some time after 9am.

I have thirty-two tracks on this morning's playlist. I have gone back to the start of my career as a radio DJ and dipped into songs I played on my first thirty-two shows.

With 46 days to go I am today wrapping the music around SUNSHINE SMILE DAY 2019.

So much is happening, amazing things happening, so many good causes involved...............

The task now is to turn the potential for an amazing day into reality.

Can I share the planning with you now...........

This year there are two parts to the SUNSHINE to the SMILE.

Everything is happening at Milton Keynes Irish Centre, Manor Fields. So kindly hosted by the centre and its secretary LEONITE Paula.

During the afternoon we will be holding SUNSHINE SMILE DAY followed by SMILE DISCO in the evening.

Do check the links and see what is happening.  I updated everything yesterday but already so much has happened since that update.

This is going to be an amazing day.

On Monday Ronald McDonald House came up with the idea for ADOPT A TEDDY - within 24 hours we had more than ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY teddies for people to adopt.

I have a vast collection of vinyl music, some I play on our traditional disco twin deck, some we sell at our car boot sales to fund our music, some are particularly valuable.

Yesterday I came up with an idea for Sunshine Smile Day  - let's have a Vinyl Tombola !

A few weeks ago I had an idea for Milton Keynes Pearly King and Queen.

Today after the radio show I am going to try to turn this into a reality.

Yesterday we booked several inflatables. We have pony rides. We have many, many good causes running all kinds of stalls. We have a fire eater. We have St Johns Ambulance giving first aid demonstrations.

We have the police coming to arrest anyone who is not smiling !

We have, of course, a burger van and ice cream, We have a bar and a hot doughnut stall.

Today I have to set up a JustGiving page for the sponsored haircut. The money is to be given to Curly Tails Pig Rescue Centre to sponsor our very own piggie - ALFIE.

We will be running a number of stalls ourselves with all the money going to Ronald McDonald House Birmingham to help them care for families with a child sick in hospital.

I still can not get over the incredible, amazing love and support Barclays Premier League is giving to Sunshine Smile Day.

The Mayor of Milton Keynes will be supporting Sunshine Smile Day.

Yes - we have an amazing day planned - a day packed with FUN and SMILES.

Admission is FREE and there is plenty of car parking available.

But things do not stop there !

SMILE DISCO will be taking place in the evening.

A fantastic evening of retro pop music with a BBQ, 50/50 cash raffle and bar.

Oh, yes of course there will be lots and lots and lots of silly games !

Admission to the disco is by COIN, TIN & SMILE.  The coins
will be given to Milton Keynes Winter Night Shelter, the tins to Milton Keynes Food Bank, the smiles to Ronald McDonald House Birmingham. ADMISSION PAYABLE ON THE DOOR.

Come along - have fun - smile - support some extra special good causes.

Ahead of SUNSHINE SMILE DAY we are having a rock and roll party at Bletchley Bandstand to tell everyone what is happening.

We will be handing out sweets, balloons and fliers.

A HUGE BIG THANK YOU to Bletchley and Fenny Stratford Town Council for making this possible.

Yesterday I was in the council's office - they truly are special and lovely people.

Then, one week before, SUNSHINE SMILE DAY I will broadcast an overnight radio party to promote all that is happening.

5.09am......

Gosh - I have been working on today's page for almost two hours !

Time to check for typo's, publish the page and then get ready for today's show.  Do listen in.............. 6am to 8am www,crmk.co.uk

Monday, 1 April 2019

47 days to go !

Did you read yesterday's blog  page ?

It was quite IMPORTANT to our music - music to make people smile, be happy and inspire LOVE for good causes.

If you missed it please CLICK HERE

3.05am - the studio is set up for the day. At 6am I will be broadcasting my show MUSIC FROM MY VINYL COLLECTION - www.crmk.co.uk

This is the opening track for the show.

Ever since time nothing's ever been found that's stronger than love...........

Yesterday I took Lisa to Birmingham to visit Ronald McDonald House which every day of the week lovingly cares for 60 families with a child sick in Birmingham's Childrens' Hospital. We  sat down and chatted about Sunshine Smile Day.

Let me share two e-mails received yesterday:

THE SMILING TURNTABLE

Thank you for your letter, sent to our CEO Jes Staley, which he has passed on to me to respond.

We are delighted that the Premier League trophy could be present at the recent Milton Keynes charity football match, and for your kind comments concerning its accompanying trophy ambassadors. They are always well prepared and very knowledgeable about the trophy itself!

I am afraid it is too short notice to have the trophy present at your upcoming Sunshine Smile Day – the trophy schedule is very busy and booked up very far in advance. However, I was hoping that if we popped a parcel in the post to you with some Premier League merchandise in, such as a selection of football shirts, you may be able to use these as raffle prizes or similar at your upcoming event?

With best wishes for all the good work you continue to do, in memory of your daughter.

Tom Corbett - Barclays Bank

How lovely !

Many thanks David and let’s hope that dream one day comes true!

Hope you are well and all the best.

Regards

Trevor

Today I have to organise my part of SUNSHINE SMILE DAY.

I've got to find the muscle to set up the stage.

I need to find someone who can lend us a generator to power the sound system.

I need to do a lot of work to make SMILE DISCO happen.

Watch out I will soon be twisting some arms to help !

We had a great week-end at our car boot sales. Can we do the same again this coming week-end ?

Saturday - Milton Keynes Irish Centre.

Sunday - Milton Keynes Bowl.

Having had a good week-end last week-end we are now a bit short of STUFF to sell.

The BBC - The Bullshit Broadcasting Corporation - says the weather will be dry this week-end so if you have anything we could sell we would be very grateful.

Money raised will be used to help make SUNSHINE SMILE DAY happen.

In asking for more STUFF to sell may I thank all who have given us lovely things to sell. Your help is so much appreciated. THANK YOU.

Following chatting at yesterday's meeting Ronald McDonald gave us the idea for ADOPT A TEDDY to include in the Teddy Bear Picnic at SUNSHINE SMILE DAY.  That's on my doings list for today.

Do you have any lonely and unwanted teddies who need adopting ?

47 days to go.....

47 days to SUNSHINE SMILE DAY

Tomorrow's show will be all about SUNSHINE SMILE DAY.

But right now I'd better get ready for today's show. Another
Country Music broadcast.

I am really looking forward to sharing some lovely tracks with you all.

6am to 8am
www.crmk.co.uk

The PODCAST will be available from around 9.30am.

Let's end today's page with another track from the playlist:
