What is the plural of help ?

What is the plural of help ?  - More than one help ?

We need your HELPS....

Hey Oxford University there's a new word for your dictionary - HELPS - we need your HELPS.

The Sunshine Smile Crew needs YOU to helps...

SANTA needs your help.  SAI needs your help. SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY FC needs your help. HELPS - plural.

Santa's sleigh is starting to fill with gifts of soft toys to add to the tree at Ronald McDonald House in Birmingham, gifts for children from all over the country who will be in Birmingham Childrens Hospital this Christmas.

SANTA needs your help to pack his sleigh.

To add your love to Santa's sleigh visit SECRET SANTA on our website.

Remember this from last Christmas ?

Our very own Mini Libs.

Here they are......

SAI needs your help.

Yesterday was the weekly Dreamsai lunch at The Buzzy - Unity Park Bus Station. Did you catch the DREAMSAI PODCAST ?

Three of us - The Geriatric DJ, Jelena and Julie went along to help Sai.

We played music from last Monday's radio show - CHECK IT OUT.

While I played the music Jelena talked with those who came in for something to eat and for some friendship. Julie made tea and coffee then sat down to talk with and comfort a lady who needed friendship.

There were many people at Dreamsai yesterday. I had to smile as many bopped to the music.

I have been taking a few items of clothing along for friends. Yesterday a lovely man took a coat.  I was asked for shoes but did not have any.

We don't need to be inundated with bags of clothes but we do need coats, jumpers, jogging bottom and
shoes/trainers. It's cold out there, many of our friends are homeless rough-sleepers. SAI needs your help.

Just message me or drop me an e-mail: dashford566@gmail.com

At Dreamsai next week I will be playing the podcast from Tuesday's show featuring Simon and Garfunkel.

SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY need your help. Yep, they could do with a bit of help winning games but that's
not the help we are looking for.

The two goals scored yesterday came from Morgan Fox and from Ferdinand Fosteri.

Did you read my last blog - CLICK HERE

The Geriatric DJ is a Wednesday Owl, I never broadcast a single song on the radio without my Sheffield Wednesday Scarf.

Between now and Christmas, every week I plan to take a box of fruit to the Food Bank at St Andrews Church, a box of gifts from a Sheffield Wednesday fan on behalf of the players who score the goals.

Would you like to add some apples, pears, bananas or whatever to the gift ?

THANK YOU Stewart Bailey for sending us beautiful pictures every day. Every member of The Sunshine Smile Crew every day is tasked with making at least one person smile.  Stewart your pictures are at the centre of generating those smiles.

So will you SMILE and HELPS - plural ?

Help Santa - Help Sai - Help Sheffield Wednesday ?

Oxford University make sure you update your dictionary and include this new word HELPS.

YOU !

It's not yet three weeks since I became a local Councillor.  I am on a massif learning curve, there are things I can do, there are things I can not do and there are things I can do if I do them in the right way. I've got a lot to learn but I have learned it is not the council that makes a community - YOU do that.

When I joined West Bletchley Council I said I would give my role ten hours a week. Last week I attended the Planning & Environment Committee, on Monday next week  I have to attend the Community Committee.  OK, fair enough.

But.................

Yesterday I popped into Saint Andrews Baptist Church to say THANK YOU to volunteers working there with The Food Bank.

The first volunteer I spoke with said WHEN SOMEONE SAYS THANK YOU IT MEANS SO MUCH.

A lady was sitting at the table registering her need for support. She was in tears. A volunteer was holding her hand, comforting her.

Leaving these good people, saying BYE I found my car was blocked in. It was blocked in by a couple who had a car packed with gifts for the Food Bank. They had been to a local supermarket, bought cakes and fruit - a car full of love for people coming to the church for help with food. I was PROUD to help them unload the car.

I constantly say that when you make a gift to The Food Bank do not just throw it into the collecting trolley. Pause, think of the person who will receive your gift then wrap it in love. That is EXACTLY what these two special people did.

The night before I had attended West Bletchley's Community Police Forum.  I am getting very frustrated with the senior management of Thames Valley Police given the level of knife and drug crime in Milton Keynes. But this was not a meeting with senior management, these were
COMMUNITY officers. It was so clear they CARED for the community they served.

Gifts of love are pouring for Secret Santa - have you made your gift of love yet ?  You gift of love for a child who will be sick in hospital this Christmas.

I found this display of poppies outside a house, I just had to go back home and grab my camera.

Earlier in the week I was in Oakgrove School working with a group of teenagers. Four young ladies came to sit and chat with me - ALL were wearing poppies. But NOT the poppies you buy in shops, all were wearing ceramic badges.  I commented. All four teenagers launched into a loving explanation as to why we should respect those who have served in wars.

Two were white, one was Afro Caribbean and one was
a Moslem. Oh I didn't tell you did I - the couple in the car at The Food Bank were NOT white !

STOP talking about race - There is ONLY one race - THE HUMAN RACE.

STOP talking about a multi-racial community - There is only one community. Are YOU a member of our community.

Later today I am going to DREAMSAI to help the wonderful people who run this wonderful organisation love and care for those in our community who are in need.

On Tuesday I welcomed three members of Dreamsai into the radio studio.

Yes, tomorrow I will be at the Remembrance Service, people may think I am there as a Councillor but NO I will be there as a member of the community.

Monday is going to be a crazy day.  Looking forward to it !

I'll be starting my day broadcasting a special show - THEY GAVE THEIR YOUNG LIVES SO WE COULD LIVE OUR OLD LIVES.

At 12noon I will be going to a firing of FENNY POPPERS.

That's me firing a popper last year.

Did you know that St Martin's Church in Fenny
Stratford is the only church in the world to have a firearms licence ? It has to have one for the gunpowder used to fire the mini-cannon.

2pm - I have a meeting with the Imam of our local mosque to talk about blood and organ donation within the Islamic COMMUNITY.

West Bletchley Council has a project - LOVING YOUR STREET.

This coming week I want to inspire the community where I live to make our street a loving street.

The Food Bank serves the whole of Milton Keynes, not just West Bletchley.

Thames Valley Police has Community Forums all over.

Secret Santa has nothing to do with West Bletchley, the gifts are going to Birmingham Childrens' Hospital.

Poppy Day is international.

Fenny Poppers is in Bletchley and Fenny Stratford Council - Not West Bletchley.

YES, I am on a learning curve as a new Councillor. The way things work is Councillors make the policies, the team of staff employed by the council then out work those policies. They way I am looking at it the council members are not the important people, the staff decide if policies are a success or not.

A couple of times at the Community Forum the police said: We have a Councillor here. Stuff that, it was the police and the residents who were important, not me.

When I walked into the Food Bank I ad to sideline the fact that I was a Councillor, the volunteers were the important people.

Yep, tomorrow at the war memorial I will be wearing my Councillor hat but it is the people who are remembering the people who gave their lives who are important.

In the radio station it is not The Geriatric DJ who matters, it is the listeners who form the community of listeners.

COMMUNITY - be it local like West Bletchley, be it national, be it international, the important person in any community is YOU. Sod the Councillors, sod the politicians, sod the government - oh we don't have one of them do we ?  Community = YOU.

YES YOU !

Naming and SHAMING the Climate Cowboys !

Did you miss yesterday's photographs naming and shaming Climate Cowboys ?  CLICK HERE.

Milton Keynes Different by Design ?

Who's trying to kid who ?

Milton Keynes - DIFFERENT BY DESTRUCTION !

How can anyone take Milton Keynes seriously when it leaves its own library lights blazing all night ?

CLIMATE COWBOY

The camera was out and about again this morning. At 4am it captured this photograph of Milton Keynes Council's civic offices !

CLIMATE COWBOY

Sainsbury's Central Milton Keynes - photo taken at 4.10am this morning.  NOTE the store opens at 7am so why the lights ?

Perhaps staff were stacking shelves ahead of opening but do they need such an excess ?

CLIMATE COWBOY

If you love our planet DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES SHOP AT SAINSBURY'S CENTRAL MILTON KEYNES.

The head office of Sainsbury's Argos in Central Milton Keynes blazes its name all night long on top of its building, as if any low-flying aircraft is in the least bit interest.

CLIMATE COWBOY

Market news yesterday was of a tumble in the share price on Intu Properties - EXCELLENT !

Help it to tumble even more. DO NOT SHOP AT INTU MILTON KEYNES.

Milton Keynes Intu destroyed a ley-line set down by Milton Keynes Development Corporation -
Midsummer Boulevard ! It's car park causes traffic flow issues on Saxon Gate.

Along the ley-line Intu MK did not destroy and at 4.15am the car park is closed so why can this be seen by anyone driving by ?
CLIMATE COWBOY

What time did The Centre MK open today ?  Certainly not twenty past four in the morning so why is this sign high up in the air ?

When The Centre MK first opened it was a proud icon in Milton Keynes, people came from all over the region to shop there. Not now. Now it is a CLIMATE COWBOY.

Please, please do not shop there - the sooner The Centre MK goes bust the better. Its closure alone would be a significant factor in reducing Milton Keynes carbon footprint.

Boycott The Centre MK, instead shop locally or use Amazon.

Do not support this CLIMATE COWBOY !

While The Centre MK and most of its tenant shops are CLIMATE COWBOYS that does not apply to all. If Nationwide Building Society can turn off its lights when closed to the public why can not
everyone follow their example.

WELL DONE NATIONWIDE BUILDING SOCIETY !  CONGRATULATIONS.

What prey is this ?

Could it be the red light district of Central Milton Keynes ?

NO - it's just another Central Milton Keynes CLIMATE COWBOY.  One among many.

Between 11pm and 7am on any given day of the week Central Milton Keynes is WASTING more electricity than is USED by all of the borough put together.

CLIMATE COWBOY - TURN OFF THE LIGHTS - STOP DESTROYING OUR PLANET

Loving your fellow man - WHAT'S THE POINT ?

I work between 60 and 65 hours a week....

I broadcast music on the radio for 10 of those hours - music to make people smile and be happy.....

The rest of my time I run a series of projects supporting people in many different areas of need.....

BUT WHAT'S THE POINT ?

  • It's November and it's not cold. October was the mildest on record in the UK.
  • 25th July recorded the highest ever temperature in the UK.
  • Four days later the world had used up all of the resources it would create in 2019, ever since we have been in negative equity.
What is the point of loving people if the world in which we all live will soon be destroyed ?

A noble effort but one which will never be achieved. It could be achieved - BULLDOZE FLAT CENTRAL MILTON KEYNES AND PLANT A FOREST OF TREES - problem solved.

Over the next few days I plan to be out and about during the early hours of the morning in Central
Milton Keynes naming and shaming those who are working flat out to destroy our planet.

Let's start by exposing the hypocrisy of Milton Keynes Council itself.   This picture of the library was taken at 4.10am today. The library closed 6pm last night and does not reopen until  11.30am today so why are the lights all night long ? Why is Milton Keynes Council using the library to help destroy our planet ?

Security !  Oh yes, I forgot the knife wielding criminal drug dealers from the street adjacent to Central
Milton Keynes Library need to be able to see what they are doing don't they !

WELL DONE SCHMIDT - CONGRATULATIONS.

This is how the original text ran but since publication this  company has done the right thing and turned its lights off. WELL DONE.
Just down the road from the library is SCHMIDT BESPOKE KITCHENS destroyer of our planet. Anyone who buys anything from this company which leaves such an excess of lights blazing all night is aiding and abetting Central Milton Keynes efforts to destroy the planet.  Until this irresponsible company adopts a more responsible attitude

What is the life of a bespoke kitchen anyway ?  25 years ?

If Schmidt had its way would there still be a planet left in 2044 for that kitchen to exist in ?

THANK YOU SCHMIDT - now everyone else follow their example.

Now here is the biggest destroyer of the planet within the entire Central Milton Keynes area.

A second view behind the trees on Marlborough Street.

It was set down in tablets of stone by Milton Keynes Development Corporation that no building should be taller than the surrounding trees. Other then in Central Milton Keynes that rule applies but NOT IN CENTRAL MILTON KEYNES.

BULLDOZE FLAT CENTRAL MILTON KEYNES AND PLANT A FOREST OF TREES

This planet destroyer was the first building in Milton
Keynes to trash the plan of Milton Keynes Development Corporation. If you love our planet, if you understand the need to change the direction of Earth Overshoot Day then boycott this planet-destroying monstrosity and send it hurtling into bankruptcy.

The camera will be out and about again tomorrow but right now NAME AND SHAME...

Milton Keynes Library
Schmidt Bespoke Kitchens
Xscape

Share their shame as widely as possible on social media. FORCE THEM TO SWITCH OFF THEIR LIGHTS.

Stop trying to protect the planet - instead build a world which looks after its own planet. What is the point of trying to love those who live on the planet when the likes of these three are destroying our home ?

Theses destroyers of our world have been names and shamed on: Twitter, Facebook, Google Reviews and Trip Adviser.
