Do I really deserve to be quite so happy?

What has a silly old man done to enjoy such a happy life ?

I wish I could wind back the clock then what ever I am doing now to do it all the way through my life.

HECK aint it fantastic to be alive. That is not a question - it's a statement.

Maureen has made me a special vegetarian meal.

Any vegi friends like to pop round for lunch ?  She has gone a bit over the top !

I am married to the most amazing lady.

One year and one week ago I met a guy who was rough sleeping in a tent outside Morrissons supermarket.  I was horrified when I learned he was not alone but was just one half of a seven year partnership. Josh and Mrs Josh are now such dear and special friends.

I present FIVE shows on an amazing radio station. I love my job, I love being The Geriatric DJ. Now we are working
towards Josh, The Eternal Teenager, co-presenting one of those shows with me. I am so excited about that and he is as well. Just look at his smile.

There is not a computer with a big enough memory to store the happiness I feel about my life.

I am still buzzing from that incredible disco Graham took me to last week at FLOWERS SHELTERED HOUSING in Bletchley.

Can't wait until Wednesday when Graham and I play the music together again on the radio.

My amazing friends are working so hard with Sunshine Smile Day.

I have such a faithful, loyal friend in Jake.

I thank goodness for the day he came into my life.  I thank goodness for the day so many wonderful people came into my life.

Ten hours a week I broadcast to the world via Internet Radio Station CRMK - www.crmk.co.uk

Just look at what has happened to the podcast figures.

On Friday I met with Station Programme Controller, Mike. I am sure this guy has never understood there is a word - NO. He is so positive in any and every discussion.

We met on Friday to talk over a few ideas I have come up with.
Mike does not say NO, he takes a suggestion, adapts it into something better then it becomes YES.

I went to him with an idea to run some sponsored marathon broadcasts for good causes which are close to my heart. YES, we are doing the broadcasts but with Mike's input they will be much, much better than my original idea. CLICK HERE to find out more.

I have to meet with FRIENDS at Bletchley & Fenny Stratford Council next week but The Geriatric DJ will take Radio CRMK on to Bletchley Bandstand with music to support The Food Bank.

I will invite any CRMK presenter who wishes to join me to come along. I have this feeling The Eternal Teenager
will be there.

I do hope he can persuade his missus to join us, she is BRILLIANT when it comes to taking music into the community.

Somehow I doubt she will take a lot of persuading.

I am planning to have a special radio show within my Wednesday programme on Wednesday 6th February. EVERY programme broadcast on CRMK by EVERY presenter is special.

I have decided to roll out the red carpet to more of my shows, to invite FRIENDS into the studio as guests.

I play music....

TO MAKE PEOPLE SMILE, BE HAPPY AND TO INSPIRE SUPPORT FOR GOOD CAUSES

Would you like to come into the studio and help me do this ?  Come and be my guest. CLICK HERE then tell me you want to come along.

I have realised why I am so happy.

DOH ! Why didn't I catch on before ?

I play so much music I can not help but smile and be happy.

So what have I got lined up in the music for you this week ?

MONDAY - Monday Morning Music Mega Mix - The Eternal Teenager will be helping me. This is something from the playlist.

TUESDAY and Music From My Vinyl Collection - this week GOLDEN HITS FROM THE BEATLES is the featured album.

WEDNESDAY and Graham will be with me in the studio to share music from last Wednesday's disco.

THURSDAY and Wake Up With The Classic where Verdi will be the featured composer.

Last Thursday The Eternal Teenager was with me for the show, I used a glass of orange juice while he had a can of Pepsi Max to join in The Brindisi Drinking Song from La Traviata by Verdi.

You do know The Eternal Teenager is into cross-dressing don't you ? Here he is wearing his wife's hat !

Anyway - The Brindisi....

FRIDAY - the time machine will be going back to 1st February 1968. NO, I am not going to tell you what was number one - you'll have to wait until the show but this was number two.

TEN HOURS of fabulous music which it will be my privileged to share with YOU my FRIENDS.

ENJOY THE MUSIC - SMILE - BE HAPPY - SUPPORT GOOD CAUSES

The Time Machine is now boarding

Last call for boarding of The Geriatric DJ's Time Machine - we are getting ready to travel back to the year of 1959.

If you are reading this page then you can travel in real time between 6am and 8am simply by going to www.crmk.co.uk  If you miss the call the PODCAST will be available from about 9am (ish!)

One of my books is all about Time Travel - I do not write under the name of The Geriatric DJ but of Max Robinson.

If you fancy a read it will cost you 99p for an e-book.  WOW is that expensive !  CLICK HERE - go on - thousands CLICK HERE and make me rich !

I am not going to let you into any secrets of the Top Thirty Chart for 1959, you will have to listen to the show for that, but next Friday we are going back to 1st February 1968 when this was top of the pops.

My time machine does not travel forward, it only travels back in time.

However, I am really looking FORWARD to next Wednesday when Graham will be joining me in the studio to play the music from the disco at FLOWERS SHELTERED HOUSING earlier in the week.  Graham played the music while I danced the afternoon away.

This is something he played.

Ahead of Wednesday there is TUESDAY - Tuesday means MUSIC FROM MY VINYL COLLECTION.

The featured album for Wednesday is THE BEATLES 20 GOLDEN HITS.

I am going next week to see La Traviata performed by The Royal Opera Company so WAKE UP WITH THE CLASSICS on Thursday next week will have Guiseppi Verdi as featured composer.

I already have the playlist written for next week's edition of MONDAY MORNING MUSIC MEGA MIX but for Monday 4th February The Eternal Teenager is helping me out by putting together the music collection for me.  With ten hours of broadcasting a week this help is most welcome. He came into the studio yesterday when I played this - The Drinking Song from La Traviata.

Josh had a can of Pepsi Max to wave about while I had a glass of orange juice.

I did not convert my friend to the joys of classical music but he is a great fan of retro pop so I am looking forward to the playlist he writes for me.

I bet he includes this !

Released in 1963 when I was 12 years old and my friend was MINUS 28 that is his favorite song.

Let's travel back to 1st January 2019.....

YEH - I do like a bit of punk rock !

How many of you took up my challenge to turn strangers into
friends during 2019 ?  How many new friends have you so far made ?

Me ?

My total is THREE.

4,27am. Time for breakfast then the time machine will depart for 1959.

They did have Marmite and Lettuce Sandwiches in 1959 didn't they ?

If they didn't then I'm not going.

I may not have educated Josh in the joys of Classical Music, I did not need to win him over to Marmite, he loves it, but I do need to work on the lettuce bit.

Let's end with something from last Wednesday's disco shall we.

Let's Sack Freddie Mercury

Later today I am going to give Freddie Mercury a call..... I am going to sack him from being the lead on our Sunshine Smile Day music stage.....

Who needs Freddie Mercury when we have The Geriatric DJ ?

Here I am yesterday leading the dancing at Flowers Sheltered Housing. I am actually dancing The Lambeth Walk.

My very good friend Graham runs disco parties in various care homes, medical units and sheltered housing. Yesterday I went with him to FLOWERS in Bletchley to be a fly on the wall. Graham is coming into my show next Wednesday to chat about the disco and play the music.

This was something Graham played and we all enjoyed.

Fly on the world...

That's hardly my style is it ?

It was not planned but I spent most of the afternoon dancing.  I loved it.  The residents of Flowers Sheltered Housing were so lovely.  I had so much fun. When I got home I was buzzing, I could not sleep as the excitement lingered on.

At one time during the afternoon I said to Graham that perhaps we should exchange jobs.  He could do my radio shows and I'd take over his disco !

Graham played music from the 1940's - that's even before my time, the 1950's, 60', 70's and even a quick dip into the 1980's.

What an amazing afternoon....

Did you know that The Eternal Teenager aka Josh is into cross-dressing ?

Here he is wearing a hat that belongs to his wife !

I was in the studio working, not having Broadand working at home - long story - I have been going in early ahead of broadcasting, the phone rang.  It was round
about 4am. It was Josh who said he would like to come into the studio to "support me".

Supporting meant just being there, chatting off microphone and encouraging The Geriatric DJ during the show.

Well you know me LOL. I was going to push my friends into a bit more than that.

Classical Music is not Josh's thing and this was my show Wake Up With The Classics.

How about we have a two hour tutorial, I suggested, where I introduce you to the joys of classical music ?

Poor Josh agreed !

When it comes to setting up music equipment, when it comes to playing the music or to writing a play list Josh is ace but this morning my friend was so far out of his depth.

Josh and Mrs Josh came into the studio on Christmas Day, Josh read out all the dedications and did a good job but
today this was different. NO, today's show will not go down in history as a broadcasting epic but we did a fair job.

Sorry Josh, I shouldn't have pushed you. It did, however, go down in history as one friend supporting another.

My friend sat busy writing a playlist for me to to use in a future edition of my Monday show - Monday Morning Music Mega Mix. He said he was going to play a particular song for me, something a bit silly.

I've just grabbed the paperwork but find my friend has taken his writing away with him.  I wonder what that song was. Can't play it for you now so let's have something else from Graham's disco yesterday.

Josh mate, you'd have loved yesterday but I am not going to let Graham invite you to a disco - you would most certainly OUT DANCE me !

The world still has not forgotten your SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY scarf dance !

Hillsborough Stadium has not been the same since !

What are you doing in this pic ?  Lining up as a sub ?

I played football at the disco yesterday.

Graham blew up a load of balloons which he threw out on to the dance floor. One dear lady kept throwing them at me to kick back or head to her.

I loved that and did it in time to the music.

Here's something else Graham played.

11.12am and I am STILL writing the blog.

Josh turning up at the studio stopped me writing it ahead of the show. When I arrived home BT arrived to fix my Broadband. WOW it's working again !  Been without it for a week !

So WEDNESDAY 30th January - Graham is joining me in the studio where we will both play the music from yesterday's disco.

MONDAY 4th January - Josh is preparing the playlist for me to use.  I bet he includes this, his favourite song.

AND I bet The Eternal Teenager slips in this song for Mrs Josh, you should hear him try to fit her name, Jelena, into the song instead of Jolene !

I wish I knew what the song he has slipped into the playlist for me is.

THE ETERNAL TEENAGER.

On today's show I explained the name, how my friend looks so much younger than he really is.

"I'm always getting asked for ID in shops," he said, "even for a packet of flumps !"

I know this isn't the song but it is a bit applicable to me....

Well - 11.22am - what's that ?  About seven hours later. Here's today's blog !

SAD BORING PEOPLE GO AWAY

HAPPY SMILING PEOPLE

WELCOME

SAD BORING PEOPLE

GO AWAY !

STILL no Internet connection in my home - DAY SEVEN - Oh dear, what a shame - never mind.  I unlocked the door to the
studio at 3.01am, in here the Internet works perfectly. I am wide awake, the Marmite and Lettuce  sandwiches, my traditional breakfast are waiting for me, at 6am I plan to broadcast an amazing HAPPY radio show so right now I need to get on and compose today's page.

HAPPY SMILING PEOPLE - READ ON

SAD MISERABLE PEOPLE *xx**xxx!!!**** OFF

Let's have a bit of music...

This is today's opening song.

Last year Josh aka THE ETERNAL TEENAGER and I played that song in Ronald McDonald House Birmingham at a party for families who had a child sick in Birmingham Children's Hospital.

WE PLAYED IT WITH REAL PINEAPPLES.

Life is a lot more fun if you are silly.

3.57am - the show goes live at 6am www.crmk.co.uk  The PODCAST will be available shortly after 8am

Today's show will look back on some of the fun our music has had when played over the last twelve months and look forward to what we plan to achieve in the community during 2019.

Are you a member of our music's fan club - THE SUNSHINE SMILE CREW ?

What was that you said ?  - You are a sad, boring person.

You are not ?  Then CLICK HERE and add your smile to our music.

Let's have something more from today's playlist.

I've played that song a few times in recent weeks.

Last season we played music at Hillsborough Stadium. Our music was fun even if Sheffield Wednesday did lose !

More recently I have been playing FOOTBALL CRAZY as we support DAMON who is organising a 24 hour football game in support of Milton Keynes Winter Night Shelter.

You know I am proud of all our music achieved last year but with...

YOUR

...help that will be nothing to what we can do here in 2019.

Are you up for helping our music ?

We play music to make people happy, smile and to inspire help for good causes. CLICK HERE and check out some of the good causes we are currently supporting.

Are you smiling ?

You will after I play this - YEP it is on today's playlist.

I need to be ready to push the BLEEP button at the right time.

4.34am and I am having a party here in the studio. I can't wait to to go live at 6am and to have some amazing fun with the music I will be playing.

Let's have have something more from the playlist.

Our blog is slowly creeping towards the ten thousand mark, we need one of those days where we crash Google Blogger - we've had two since I first started.

Let's have something from when we took our music to San Francisco last April.

That video looks forward to SUNSHINE SMILE DAY 2018. This next video was shot at SUNSHINE SMILE DAY.

We are now busy working on SUNSHINE SMILE DAY 2019 - are you coming ?

If you are a HAPPY, SMILING person then CLICK HERE.  If you are a sad, miserable old sod then why are you reading this ?

Well I am feeling hungry, those Marmite and Lettuce sandwiches look so tempting.

One final note before I click the mouse to publish....

This afternoon I am going to a disco. I am going with GRAHAM who runs disco's in care homes. We are going to have an incredible party then next week Graham is coming into the studio where will both talk about the music, the fun AND The Smiles.
