A SPECIAL DAY

Yesterday's Lunch Of Love at Dreamsai was the busiest yet.

Let me take you through all that happened, celebrate the love and invite ALL members of The Sunshine Smile Crew to increase our effort for Dreamsai. The coming weeks are going to bring challenges to the support we give to our friends.

Julie, Queen Of The Kettle, was poorly yesterday so Jelena stepped in as Princess Of The Kettle and did an amazing job.

A few weeks ago guests asked for toasted sandwiches, last week we ran out of ingredients so we doubled everything yesterday and AGAIN we ran out. We have to up things even more for next week. We really need to have

a second toaster on the go. Does anyone have one at home they do not want ?  If not Morrissons sell them for £12, that is providing there has been no panic buying to heat up the toilet paper !  Sorry about that !

THANK YOU - THANK YOU - THANK YOU to The Community Fridge on Coffee Hall for the incredible support you gave us to make up some extra

packed, packed teas for our guests. We made our usual number of 32 - we include Morrissons sausage rolls which are sold in packs of 8 so we have to work in multiples of 8 for the packed teas. We ran out of teas during our drive round Milton Keynes giving teas to homeless rough-sleepers who had not come to the lunch. No question about it we have to increase to 40 packed teas next week.

Even though Nan - Julie - was not there our amazing two

young helpers were with us doing their usual kaleidoscope of activities including manning the Tombola Of Love. We have been given some special prices for next week's tombola. I should

say that tickets are FREE and EVERY ticket is a winner.

One thing that did not work was our FREEBIE BOX, with no new items added there was not any interest.

Richard who rough-sleeps by the train station has named our writing project DOWN AND OUT IN MILTON DREAMS. Richard is still working

some things out in his mind ahead of formally launching the project next week. However, we do have people already writing content.

The Probation Service came along and brought a client to our lunch of love. I spoke with this new friends and feel we really got on well, he is going to write content and I twisted his arm to come along next week as a volunteer to help. To mix my metaphors I have my fingers crossed I twisted his arm hard enough !

My Thursday show on Radio CRMK is always played as a

podcast at the lunch. This week Richard went round collecting requests and has asked me to play a dedication on all of my five weekly radio shows.

SO THAT WAS YESTERDAY 

I have not mentioned Corona Virus. We took special measures yesterday to ensure the highest level of hygiene, we all wore gloves and we went for elbow bumps instead of hand

shakes.  I am trusting next week's lunch of love will go ahead, we are meeting all of the scientific advice. Sooner or later we are going to go into some form of lock-down. When that happens THE SUNSHINE SMILE CREW is going to have to support our rough-sleeping friends BIG TIME. 

IMMEDIATELY we need to increase the number of packed teas, once a lock-down kicks in I think we need to make a minimum of two weekly drive round to rough-sleepers taking packed food.  I would like to hear your opinion. Message me on FACEBOOK.

Friends asked us to set up a GO FUND ME page for people to support what we are doing. ONLY ONE PERSON HAS DONATED !

We need to share the page so PLEASE will you share it among your social media friends. We need someone to take charge of promoting the page. Realistically to achieve everything I have run past you in the words above we need £250 a week,  Surely this is an easily achievable sum.

I started using my books to raise money. A 99p e-book download give the person a book to read and 74p for us to use in our work. CHECK THINGS OUT HERE.   We need people to buy books and we need EVERYONE to share this via their social media friends. We have not had a sale for three days.
