AMAZING !

Is your Christmas Tree sparkling ?

Mine is !

Is your life sparkling ?

What a Christmas this is turning out to be.

I don't remember one quite like this.

On Friday I will be heading to Milton Keynes Hospital and Ronald McDonald House which works with Birmingham's Childrens' Hospital to deliver all of the fantastic gifts of love you wonderful friends have have donated to Secret Santa.

So many gifts of love.

THANK YOU.

THANK YOU SO VERY VERY MUCH.

Have you seen what's happening with  The Mini Libs ?

Christmas sensation or Christmas sensation !

Better have some music I guess.

NO, that is not a Christmas song but it so perfectly explains the deluge of love which is flowing this Christmas.

Uganda is a long way away yet your love has reach to a family through our toilet twinning programme.

We are getting closer every day to touching another family to provide their home with the basic sanitation of a toilet.

More music and this time I will make it something a bit Chrstmasy.....

I will be playing that on today's show, Jim Reeves' Christmas album will be my featured special on MUSIC FROM MY
VINYL COLLECTION. I will be live from 6am to 8am CLICK HERE to listen.  If you are a lazy bones the PODCAST will be available from around 9.30am.

Wednesday's show is being extended to THREE hours. I have a very special guest joining me, George Ridley Director of LightForce International.  LightForce has a project running in Uganda, George is coming to tell you all about that country and give an insight into the importance of our toilet twinning project.

That certainly is a show NOT to be missed.

The Mini Libs -

What can I say ?  What ever I say will be out of date within moment. Their amazing Christmas Single - JINGLE GIRLS is a Christmas Sensation.

I  am so proud to have had a part to play in the love The Mini Libs have brought to Christmas 2018.

Twelve Year Ollie is doing a spot on all of my radio shows
this week.

All download sales from JINGLE GIRLS are being donated to Milton Keynes Winter Night Shelter.

It was Christmas 2017 when I first started to take notice of the situation of homeless, rough-sleeping people in our city. In January I met two rough-sleepers who have since become my very dearest friends - Josh and Jelena.

Let's listen to The Mini Libs.

I love my job as a radio DJ. I am so privileged and deeply honored that the music I play has inspired so much love.

Can I play a music Christmas Card for you in Christmas week ?  CLICK HERE and send some love.

I have stopped using the radio station's jingle pallet to introduce my shows, instead I am using this.

Over the music I introduce the music I will play across the next two hours.  I used to have 76 Tombstones as a single in
my original vinyl collection.  OK, he is a bit older than I am but that was before a certain gentleman first heard it then adopted it as the entrance march for his concerts.

Andre Rieu has the same philosophy as I do about music. We both play music to make people smile and be happy. The music of Andre Rieu will form my Thursday show WAKE UP WITH THE CLASSICS - particularly this piece.

When I play that piece on Thursday I will have a special message to share, a message of smiles and love.

So is your Christmas Tree sparkling ?

Is it sparking with smiles and love ?

OF COURSE IT IS !

During the week Maggie wrapped the Secret Santa gifts for families who will have a child sick in Milton Keynes Hospital over Christmas.  Yesterday Maureen and I wrapped the rest.

On Friday Maureen and I will pack the sacks into the car then drive up to Ronald McDonald House in Birmingham for Libby and her team to give to families who will have a child sick in Birmingham Childrens' Hospital over Christmas.

It's kind of end of season for the car boot sales, have no fear we will be back in the Spring, but rather than leave the gifts of love friends donated for us to sell last week I took all of the DVD's to a medical drop-in centre and put them on their freebie shelf.

Geeks really get up my nose - SIDEWAYS !  Mixcloud which hosts my podcasts has redesigned the page - IDIOTS - and have left out the stats so I no longer know how many have listened to the shows.

LightForce International will share his understanding of Uganda.

We are now working to twin a second toilet !  Playing music to make people SMILE be HAPPY and to INSPIRE support for good causes. - Love, Love and even MORE LOVE.

My favourite show each week is Thursday's WAKE UP WITH THE CLASSICS. I love to have fun with what I call WHERE CLASSICAL MUSIC MEETS ROCK AND ROLL !

This week's show will be very special as I share on particular piece of classical Italian music without which it entering my life in the way it did eighteen months ago my life would be so much quieter - quieter but totally BORING.

As well as being The Geriatric DJ playing music on the radio, on our website, on this blog, on YouTube and on the radio I am MAX ROBINSON the author.

Santa Lucia is a central theme in my book The Bridge House, a love story which opens just after the death of Queen Victoria and ends in February 1983.  It is a love story. This is also a theme from the book and the love story.

Friday is my day off but not for much longer.

On Friday 11th January I will start a new show. Each week I will bring listeners the TOP THIRTY from a day in history.  HISTORY ? I mean when I was younger.

My first show will feature the year of 1967 when this was at number 30 in the charts and will be the first track I play.

But before then a lot is happening,  a lot of music - music top be played to..........make people SMILE be HAPPY and to INSPIRE support for good causes. - Love, Love and even MORE LOVE.

Christmas Eve - Christmas Day - Boxing Day - Thursday 27th December which I am now naming INTERNATIONAL CHILL OUT DAY I will be in the studio from 6am to 8am playing Musical Christmas Cards which you can use to send LOVE.....

Funny how things go

After Tuesday's show I was feeling a bit low, I did not think I had the biggest audience of my career. We did however have listeners in: Germany - France - USA - India - Pakistan - Thailand - Columbia - Morocco and ONE in UK.

Today's show nearly fused the computer !  There were listeners in: France - Germany - USA - India - Turkey - Malaysia and millions, well nearly, in the UK. THANKS FOR TUNING IN. I hope you liked the music. The PODCAST is now available CLICK HERE

Here's something from today's show:

I have done some crazy things in the studio !  last week I boogied, I tried to sing and a few weeks ago I danced Zorba's Dance. While I played the music today I DID NOT try to dance !

The show was all about INSPIRATIONAL MUSICAL MOMENTS.  I am listening to to the podcast as I write this
page.

Today's show - WAKE UP WITH THE CLASSICS - features military music and in particular that composed by John Philip Sousa.

The young man in the podcast picture is my grandson ADAM. I don't know if he fancies himself as a Radio DJ but Ollie from the Mini Libs does.

On Friday The Mini Libs are coming into the studio to sing and record some bits and pieces I can use to promote their video over my shows next week.  Ollie is going to work the deck with me.

I have always liked Queen but only since I started working as a radio DJ have I come to realise just how big a fan I am.

Freddie and the boys helped me prepare yesterday's advent window. Along the road of milestones on yesterday's show I declared them to be the best band ever.

That road of inspirational musical milestones is a COUNTRY ROAD where you can find John Denver.

Let's be silly for a moment:

Let's be very silly !

NO, this is not silly this is TOTALLY RIDICULOUS !

And with that I'll shut up, publish the blog and head to the radio studio.

A bit of a mess up !

Yesterday's show had listeners in:

France - Germany - USA - India - Pakistan - Thailand - Columbia - Morocco and guess what - we even had ONE listener in the UK !

Actually yesterday was a bit of a mess up !  Hope nobody notices !

I was in the studio for 3.10am to pre-record Monday Morning
Music Mega Mix to be broadcast on Monday 31st December - New Year Eve.

That is my darling granddaughter Frances birthday so I will be in Bristol dancing at her party.  I will then drive back up to Milton Keynes to anchor the new Year Special.

Franzie loves this song so let me play it here for her.

Setting up the studio to start recording I had the music on the
memory stick BUT I had left all of my notes at home !  There simply was not time to drive home, return, record and then move into my live show at 6am.

I think I got away with it but I was a but on edge during the live broadcast.  HEY - CLICK HERE listen to the podcast and see what you think.

I will not make that mess up again.

I'll talk about today's show in a moment but first...................

We play music to make people smile, be happy and support good causes.

Music on the radio, music here on the blog, on YouTube, on our website www.geriatricdj.com and in the community.

To expand our music in the New Year we need money.  NOT A PENNY is taken from the good causes we support so we have to be self financing.

We have been making money over the summer attending the car boot sales, we have had some lovely times and met some super people but with the winter it is a bit of hit and miss, we are always having to ask people for STUFF to sell. I do not want to give up on the boot sales  but we need to generate money from other sources.

Let me play another of Franzie's favourite songs then I would like to share one with you if I may.

In January it will be two years since I started writing this blog to date there have been 710 editions. Originally I started writing to promote my books.

As a DJ I am The Geriatric DJ but as a writer I work under the pen-name of MAX ROBINSON.

You can check out the books currently available by CLICKING HERE.

My books are available on Amazon, some in paperback form
but all as e-books.  Let's look at one.

I may have been a teacher for most of my working life but I hated my own days at school as this autobiography explains.

You can buy an e-book version for £1.99. From that I make about 25p in royalties.

If we could sell 100 of my books a week we would have £25 to spend on our music. If we could sell 1,000 a week that would give us £250 !  Now that would make a lot of difference to our music,

Could we do it ?

Some Amazon authors make TEN times that.

If we could build up the fan club, at present it has 257 members, if we could build it up to say 25,000 members and each week 1 in 25 people purchased a book that would give us the money.  Are you a fan club member ?  CLICK HERE and join.

Here's something from tomorrow's show.

I have made a list of thirty inspirational musical moments which I will be playing to make people smile, be happy and inspire support for good causes.

Please join me 6am to 8am www.crmk.co.uk

If you are a lazy person you can catch up with the PODCAST which will be on-line round about 9.30am.
