We need stuff

After a few days sharing draft text for ,my book LEGENDS OF A GREAT CITY let me return to the more traditional blog format.

Things for SUNSHINE SMILE DAY are progressing well, Lisa is doing a great job.  We need now to start drawing in wider support to make things happen. To create more smiles.

But first here's a track from next Monday's radio show MONDAY MORNING MUSIC MEGA MIX.

The money we made at last Sunday's car boot sale has been spent ! Spent on paper, envelopes, printing ink, laminating pouches, buying a prize for SMILE DISCO and £20 on music administration.

The weather forecast for this week-end is good. We plan to go to two boot sales this week-end and to make £110. We just about have enough STUFF to so this.  If we had more
STUFF we could double the target.

Do you have anything in your loft, garage, shed and cupboards you could turn out for us to sell ?

Yesterday I contacted and sent out by post information for Sunshine Smile Day to 20 people.  Today I plan to do the same.

Here's something from Tuesday's radio playlist.

Check the SUNSHINE SMILE DAY page, we have some fantastic stalls coming representing great causes.
SUNSHINE SMILE DAY will work with the stalls we have but if we can find more stall holders, more good causes, if we could double the number of stalls we would TRIPLE the number of smiles.

This picture is taken from our FROG CHALLENGE held in September 2017. It is the most viewed picture from Milton Keynes on Google - the most EVER viewed picture.

On Wednesday, former Mayor of Milton Keynes David Hopkins, is joining me on the radio to share his favourite tracks. David is a great man, an inspiration and a lover of music.  Here is something he has chosen to play.

The diary is full as we work towards SUNSHINE SMILE DAY.

On Thursday this week we are going to a meeting of Bletchley & Fenny StratfordResidents Association to talk
about SUNSHINE SMILE DAY.

On Friday I am meeting with CRMK programme controller Mike to chat over the recent Radio Disco and doing something to support SUNSHINE SMILE DAY.

Monday next week we are going to Curly Tails to adopt
a pig and bring him/her into our music.

Then on Monday 1st April we are driving up to Birmingham to visit Ronald McDonald House and chat about SUNSHINE SMILE DAY.

I have not yet fully decided what I am going to broadcast for Thursday's Wake Up With the Classics Show. Knowing how much people enjoy it when I play music from The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra I may well do another show - WHERE CLASSICAL MUSIC MEETS ROCK AND ROLL....

I want today to finalise all of the playlist for next week's shows and have the music ready to share. I play around 150 tracks a week on my five radio shows.

This week I want to move a way forward with planning for the music stage at SUNSHINE SMILE DAY.

This year there are two of us taking part in the sponsored haircut - myself and Josh aka The Eternal Teenager.

We have a couple of dance groups and we have - wait for it........... A FIRE EATER.

I want to find some live performers.

I also want this week to move forward with SMILE DISCO and to get people to put this into their diaries.

I need to be confident that we will have at least 200 people coming.  I need to plan the BBQ.

One of the letters I sent out yesterday was to Cliff Richard's agent - fingers crossed he is going to help us with a little something for SMILE DISCO.

For Friday's show next week the time machine is going back to 29th March 1968 when Cliff Richard was at number 8 in the charts.

Yesterday's blog was all  about Cliff filming the video for his number 4 single WIRED FOR SOUND. Watch the video and see Cliff roller skating through an underpass in Central Milton Keynes.

That could not be filmed today, the underpass is the location of TENT CITY.

SMILE DISCO is being organised in part to support the homeless charity MILTON KEYNES WINTER NIGHT SHELTER.

So please check out all that is happening - GET INVOLVED and help us make SUNSHINE SMILE DAY a mega success.

Please dig out STUFF you do not want, stuff from your loft, cupboards, garage and shed - give it to us for the car boot sales - please help us turn that stuff into SMILES.
